Like all the other golfers, I am sure you have been trying to figure out  how to achieve that great golf swing like the pros do it in tourneys! The question my friends is…. after all this time…. have you managed to find it? If not, the time has come to try something different and see where it takes you. Obviously, as we all know, the mechanics of the swing are the top factor to consider on the list. In order to master the mechanics, however, you need to have a complete and general understanding of the golf swing. That’s not to say that you have to transform into a geek reading every book out there, or watching every video you can get your hands on, then again, you might want to consider reading one or two or maybe taking a lesson from an experienced golfer. Just try to approach one of the pros during your next visit to your favorite golf course! I am willing to bet that he will offer your a couple of great tips.

Do you need to buy new equipment in order to achieve that great golf swing? No! Your old club will do just fine! Keep in mind, we are trying to learn the technique – we are not interested in the distance or the power at this point.

The only thing you need in order to be successful in this search is yourself – the only equipment you will use is your body (you will have to use that old club of yours too, but it won’t be the key element to your success)!

Unfortunately, that can be negative too. If you have any physical limitations, they will affect your golf swing. Obviously, there are ways to work around that, but if you don’t try and deal with it, chances are that a good swing won’t be something you’ll manage to do on a regular basis. Try reading a book specifically designed to deal with that or work with someone to get over it.

Virtually every golfer out there, has some sort of a limitation. One could have a tight hamstring, maybe weak shoulder muscles or anything that could impair their ability to control their club. For that reason, you need to get a physical assessment that’s specific to golf. That’s your first step right there! When you are able to pin point your limitations, you’ll be able to come up with a training program to work around them and get to your goal.
